Realtors and development interests are urging the Arizona Corporation Commission to repeal a policy that enables Arizona Public Service to charge for utility line extensions.

Distaste for the use of eminent domain caused the Prescott City Council to take a step back this week from using legal means to acquire five pieces of right-of-way along Williamson Valley Road. California couple refuse to boycott Arizona over new immigration law.
As residents of San Diego, Calif., my wife and I fully support Arizona's legislation regarding illegal aliens. We do not support our city government's stand on that issue. It appears that that action will have an effect on our tourism industry and maybe that is what is needed to wake up our politicians.
It will not influence our annual trip to Prescott Valley to enjoy the horse racing at Yavapai Downs. We have enjoyed this event for the past five years. Big Chino Water Ranch budget nears public approval threshold
With $36 million already into the Big Chino Water Ranch, and another $2 million or so in the coming year's budget, the City of Prescott is nearing the $40 million mark that would require an election of the public.
And that has raised a question about whether the city should be spending any money at all on the water pipeline project that officials have estimated at a final cost of about $170 million.

Medals make their way to Prescott Navajo veteran
More than 300 people attended the Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday at the Bob Stump Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center where Sen. John McCain presented seven medals to a Navajo World War II veteran.

New Chino Valley well may be online by July 4
Chino Valley's new Bright Star Well is expected to be online by July 4, Robin Allen, one of the town's engineers, said Wednesday.
Initially, Ron Grittman, town engineer and Public Works director, had hoped the well would be online by May 7.
